The Components of PMKVY 

Short-Term Training (STT): 

  • The Short-Term Training provided at Centres is intended for those who have left their education unfinished at the secondary school or college level or are already unemployed.
  • The duration of training is typically between two and six months or two hundred and sixty hours. However, this might vary depending on the position.
  • The instruction will be delivered following the (NSQF). The entrepreneurship, soft skills, digital literacy, and financial literacy classes are in the syllabus.
  • Candidates who have completed their examinations and obtained their certificates may get assistance from Training Partners in their job search.

Special Projects 

  • The objective of the Special Projects component of PMKVY is to support training for specialised vocations and pieces of training in specially designated spaces and buildings of government agencies, corporations, and industry groupings.
  • The qualification packs and National Occupational Standards (NOS) currently available do not provide coverage for them.
  • These are the projects for which there is a possibility that the PMKVY STT guidelines will need some modifications.

Recognition of Prior Learning

  • People who have already learned something or have abilities are assessed and granted a certificate as part of (the RPL) component of the Scheme. This aspect of the Scheme is also known as prior learning recognition.
  • The NSQF is intended to be brought into alignment with the abilities of the country’s unregulated workforce via the use of RPL.
  • The time spent on orientation and training might range from 12 to 80 hours.

Kaushal and Rozgar Mela

  • Training Partners (TPs) are required to facilitate the mobilisation of local communities by organising Kaushal and Rozgar Melas on a semiannual basis.
  • The participation of the press in KRM lends an air of openness and accountability to the event, therefore illuminating the state of progress.
  • Aside from that, organising events such as National Career Service Melas and other gatherings would broaden the exposure that the youngsters get in general and assist them in being active in the areas in which they live.

PMKVY 1.0:
