List of Sovereign Yet Dependent Territories in Asia

Sovereign states are familiarly known as sovereign countries. It is a political entity that a centralised form of government will represent and serves as a supreme form of authority on the territory. In simple terms, a sovereign territory has its institutions and populations and a permanent form of people, government, and territory. The Abkhazia Republic of Abkhazia is a sovereign territory.

They have a specific geographic area along with a centralised form of government. In terms of international law, they have defined a form of territory along with one set of governments. The sovereign nations have a permanent based population and are permitted to enter into relations with other sovereign countries.

Abkhazia Republic of Abkhazia

The Abkhazia Republic of Abkhazia is located on the eastern coast and is related to the Black sea. The Abkhazia Republic of Abkhazia is a place that has mild climatic conditions. It has nearly 15 degrees Celsius, and the capital city is Sukhum which mainly lies on the coast of the Black sea.

War and the drastic changes in the economic conditions are the main reason for the emptiness that has occurred in the town. It is a town with a population of just five thousand, and at present, it is left with nearly thirty-five residents. This once town of mining is now covered with forest.

Artsakh Republic of Artsakh

It is an integral part of Armenia. During the era of Urartian, it was known as The- Urtekhinin. At present, it is also known as Nagorno Karabakh. Various kingdoms of Armenia governed this region. During the 17th century, it was occupied by the empire of Russia. In 2017 in February it was officially named the Artsakh Republic of Artsakh. The switch in its name was mainly the part of the new constitution. The status related to the 

The Artsakh Republic of Artsakh is now a matter of extreme dispute. This region is supposed to be claimed by Azerbaijanas well as labelled as the territory of conflict. It was declared independent during the Soviet Union breakup and was subjected to rule separately from the city of Azerbaijan from earlier in the 1900s.

Concerning the military aspect and the administration, it is integrated heavily along with the neighbouring city of Armenia. But the government of this region officially declared itself an independent country. Armenia has maintained a kind of separation, neither any form of recognising the independence of the Artsakh Republic of Artsakh nor is willing to make it an official part belonging to Armenia.

Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as Artsakh, is the accepted name for Artsakh. “Nagorno – Karabakh “is mainly the Russian-based name by which it is considered to be part of the Soviet Union. And “Karabakh” is the name based on terms of the Azerbaijan language, which is intended to come from the ancient form of words having the meaning of “Black Garden”.

Bahrain

Bahrain is located in the Gulf of Persia. It mainly consists of a small archipelago with fifty natural islands and an additional thirty artificial islands, which are located in Bahrain. Bahrain means “two seas”. This was before the states were found in the Gulf. It was used to discover oil and used in refinery buildings. It was known as Dilmun during ancient times. It was the centre of trade during the 3rd millennium century. This was ruled mainly by Persians during the 4th century. It did not get any kind of complete independence until the year 1971, on Aug dated 14.

The conflict between the Sunni Muslims and Shiites recurs most often in the city of Bahrain. Sunnis, a minority, control all the wealth and power related to the country. And Shiites are continuing with agitation for the greater representation that is required in the government. This has led to, in most cases, violent clashes.

It has been considered one of the important allies of the west. It has continued to serve as the United States base, which mainly patrols the Gulf. The United States established a diplomatic relationship with Bahrain INR 1971 and got freedom from the United Kingdom. It also has the U.S embassy, which is located in Manama that was opened in September in the year 1971; the embassy of Bahrain is also found in Washington, D.C., which was opened in the year 1977. The hospital related to the American Mission has operated for a long duration of time in the city of Bahrain.

The city of Bahrain is playing the role of the Gulf’s security, and at the same time, it is considered the anti-ISIL-based coalition. The kind of help provided by the U.S has made it possible to defend itself, and it has made Bahrainmost secure and protect itself against any kind of smuggling as well as terrorism. The U.S has improved the ability of the city of Bahrain, which has made it possible to deny sponsoring terrorists and extend its supporting hand for ant social elements.
