India is scheduled to host the first International Buddhist Conference 2021 India on November 19 and 20 st, at the Nava Nalanda maha vihara campus, located in Nalanda, Bihar. The academic conference, organised by the Indian Council for cultural relations (Iccr), will be annual. Four regional conferences will be held within India (Telangana, Sarnath, Gangtok, and Dharamshala) and overseas (Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Cambodia) before the convention. The results from these conferences will be made available at the first global Buddhist conference in 2021.
About the Global Buddhist Conference 2021 Theme
Global Buddhist Conference 2021 focuses on making India the central point of Buddhism and promoting Buddhist activities like seminars, academics, culture, or people travelling for celebrations like Buddha Purnima and Vesak.
As part of the celebration, an award will be presented to promote the study of Buddhist study. It will be awarded on November 21 during premier Narendra Modi’s presence in New Delhi.
International Buddhist Conference 2021 India Featured Award
This award is accessible to individuals, regardless of nationality, race, creed, or sexual orientation. A group, institution, or other entity is qualified for the award.
A distinguished person or institution sends an application in writing that has been recommended by one of the authorities in charge as per the code of procedure for the award.
The jury will examine nominations received by the office of the Indian Council for cultural relations, New Delhi. By the time specified, except if the jury chairman is of the view that the period may be extended if necessary.

Additionally, iccr also announced that on November 21, the prime minister would confer his “promoting the study of Buddhism” prize in new Delhi. The award is part of the government’s plans to increase awareness of India’s Buddhist tradition and acknowledge the contribution of foreign researchers, individuals, and organisations in promoting Buddhist study worldwide.

Four Regional Conferences Before the Main Conference
In the lead-up to the event, four regional gatherings in India, four regions – Telangana, Sarnath, Gangtok, and Dharamshala and also in other countries – japan, South Korea, Thailand, And Cambodia will be held in Thailand, Japan, South Korea, and Cambodia.
