The feature of the occasion is the Exposition of Holy Buddha Relic being brought from Waskaduwa Sri Subuddhi Rajvihara Temple, Sri Lanka, by the Mahanayaka of the sanctuary. In 1898, Archeologists from the Archeological Survey of India exhumed an enormous hill in the endowment of British landowner William Claxton Peppe in Piprahwa, Siddharth Nagar area U.P. It is 160 km from Kushinagar. They tracked down a major stone box, and inside this stone box, there were a few coffins, and these words were recorded on one coffin. A piece of the Buddha relics from this stupa was shipped off to the King of Thailand, and one more part was shipped off to the King of Burma. Mr. W.C. Peppe gave one more piece of relics to the Most Venerable Sri Subhuthi Mahanayake Thero as a badge of appreciation. Some portion of similar Relics implanted in three little lotuses, which are additionally encased in a precious stone ball, kept in a coffin estimating 30cm * 26.5 cm, which is fixed on a wooden stand, is being brought to Kushinagar for public work.
