Who implements the law and policies laid down by the politicians? Who executes the functioning of the constitution?

The Indian authorities are very clearly divided into three parts which are: legislative, judiciary and executive, all these collectively run the country efficiently, legislative makes the laws, judiciary keeps a check on justice, and executives make sure these laws are well abided. 

Who Forms The Indian Executive?

The Indian executive is made up of collection service departments that together run the system in an organized way, all these work together to form the authorities of India, the elected politicians make the law and policies, but are actually worked upon by the Indian civil services.

Every year new civil servants are added to the posts under the departments of civil services in India. 

There are 23 departments that collectively work together.

How To Get Into Civil Service?

Every year, union public service commission of India organizes union public service examinations, the candidates selected from the 2 rounds that are preliminary and mains, go through a in person interview and then have a disciplined training in institutions like lal Bahadur Shastri national academy of administration or Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, etc.

What Are The Different Departments In The Civil Services Of India?

  • Indian administrative service:

           It is an all India service/agency, which has central headquarters and works throughout the country. 

           They are responsible for making sure that all government policies and laws are implemented, they act as a check on other departments like water, electricity too.

  • Indian police services: 

   It is an all India service/agency, which has central headquarters and works throughout the country. 

 The IPS officer performs the duty of the senior positions in state police departments and intelligence agencies like RAW, IB, etc.

  • Indian forest service: 

It is an all India service/agency, which has central headquarters and works throughout the country. 

The main work of the forest services is to maintain the flora and fauna of India and work against all the illegal activities in the forests of India; they work under the ministry of environment and climate.

  • Indian foreign services:

To have harmony with all other global nations and for making the borders open in and out for global citizens, the department works as embassies, and also represent India at the United Nations and other global summits.

  • Indian audit and accounts service:

 Their work is to maintain the accounts and do the audit for the central government, state government and public sectors. They work under Comptroller and Auditor general. 

  • Indian civil accounts service:

The departments work under the finance ministry, they work to facilitate the public accounts and auditing and keep a check on the accounting process.

  • Indian corporate law service:

Their work is to maintain the laws and regulations for the corporate sector of India; they work on laws, economics, and accounting of the sector.

  • Indian defense accounts service:

The department handles the finances of the Indian defense services like BSF, DRDO and works in the audit and accounts.

  • Indian defense estate services: 

Manage the land of the cantonments and other defense establishments.

  • Indian information services:

Department manages the media of the nation and works under the ministry of information and broadcasting.

  • Indian ordnance factories service:

The department manages the functioning of the government ordnance factories which make Indian defense equipment, guns.

  • Indian communication finance service:

It manages the finances of Indian posts and the telecommunication department of India.

  • Indian postal service:

Government body for facilitating the transport of letters, couriers, also manages pensions and also provides other bank services like e- commerce.

  • Indian railway account service:

 Maintain the accounts and monetary matters of the Indian railways.

  1. Indian railway personnel services:

The Indian railway personnel service manages the departments of Indian railways as human resource staff.

  1. Indian railway traffic services:

Manage the operations and commerce of the Indian railway service.

It maintains the ticket booking, etc for the Indian railways.

  • Indian revenue services:

It is one of the major departments that are responsible for collection of all the taxes defined by the Indian government.

  • Indian trade service:

Facilitating and managing the laws of the international and domestic commerce of India.

  • Railway protection service:

It is a paramilitary organization responsible for maintaining law and order of passengers in the railway of India.

  • Armed forces headquarter services:

Responsible for the organization and formal work of the armed forces and inter departmental works. 

  • Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services: 

Departments work for official and administrative work for the union territories. 

  • Pondicherry civil and police services:

Work for the functioning of administrative and police services in Pondicherry.

Conclusion

Execution is an important part for the proper functioning of the government,  and thus an executive civil service officer. From the above article we can conclude that an executive protects all the rules and regulations implemented by the government resulting in the smooth functioning of the system.
