Considering the 2020-21 class 12 examination cancellation due to the outbreak and spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) made certain structural changes in the class 12 academic session. Here is a detailed look at those changes.
Science – medical and non-medical subjects – Humanities, and Commerce are the streams available in the eleventh standard. Candidates can choose a stream of their choice and can also pick from a variety of vocational disciplines offered by the CBSE Board. These will be continued in class 12. Academic electives, languages, and skill topics are among the fields that students can opt for.
Certain changes have been made in the academic structure of class 12. Broadly speaking, they are as follows:
i) From now on, the class 12th academic session stands divided into two parts, Term 1 and Term 2. The syllabus will be equally divided between the two terms.
ii) The syllabus and curriculum for the class 12 board examination 2021-22 will be streamlined in the same way as the syllabus for the previous academic session.
iii) Since there will be considerable emphasis on internal assessment/ projects, efforts will be made to make these more credible and valid.
