  • The International Development Association is an associate of the World Bank group that aids the world’s 74 impoverished countries and is the single biggest source of bestower funds for basic elite services in these nations or countries.
  • The main aim of the International Development Association is to reduce poverty by lending economic aid,  advice for ideas that hike economic development, build elasticity,  provide zero to low-interest rates debts, and amend the lives of needy people around the globe.
  • The International Development Association aided in improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of groups. In 2021, about 395.9 million children were vaccinated, 974.9 million people received necessary health services, and 113.3 million acquired access to reinforced water services.

India is one of the initial members of this very effective organisation,  the International Development Association or IDA.

  • India received its initial investment from the International Development Association for a Highway construction project in 1961.
  • The International Development Association recorded that nearly three-fourths of the World Bank contributed to India in the tailing decade.
