Candidates who wish to pursue a career as banking personnel at the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection must be aware of the IBPS PO syllabus to prepare well for the examinations.
There are two exams, namely Prelims and Mains. The candidates must pass the prelims to appear for the main exams. The IBPS PO syllabus for the Prelims consists of three topics: English language, quantitative ability, and reasoning ability. The IBPS PO syllabus for the Mains comprises Computer Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Analysis, Reasoning Ability, and General Economy or Banking Awareness.

IBPS PO Syllabus: Prelims Examination
The Prelims exam is the first exam, and the candidates should know the IBPS PO syllabus for the Prelims exams. Every subject will have 100 questions for 100 marks that must be solved in under 1 hour.
Candidates must understand the IBPS PO syllabus, prepare well, and build strategies to answer well during the exams. IBPS PO Syllabus: Mains Examination
Applicants who have passed the prelims exams will be eligible to write the Main exams. There will be 155 questions for the mains exam and the duration of the exam is 3 hours. The topics covered under this exam are the English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Ability, and General Awareness Exam. The exam also consists of a descriptive test of 2 questions that are 25 marks each.

4. IBPS PO Syllabus for General Awareness Exam
This subject does not cover any particular syllabus. The candidate’s knowledge of current affairs will be checked. Applicants must be well aware of the happenings around the world and be up-to-date with the latest news and headlines.
5. IBPS PO Syllabus for Descriptive Test
The Descriptive Test contains 2 questions with 25 marks each. The questions are divided into 2 parts, letter writing, and essay writing. This test will be attempted on a computer. Hence, candidates must practice computer typing skills. The letter writing could be either formal or informal letters.
