What is the 7th Pay Commission?

Recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission

- The maximum pay for government employees A rise in the maximum salary for officials in the government to the number of Rs 2.25 lakhs per month for Apex Scale, and an additional Rs 2.5 lakhs per month for Cabinet Secretary and others at similar pay (from the current salary of Rs. 90,000 per month).
- Pay matrix: The status of a government employee will be determined by the pay level in the new Pay Matrix instead of grade pay. The Commission has suggested changing the grade pay system with a new pay matrix to ensure transparency.
- Working Related Illness and Injury Time (WRIIL) The sick leave or hospital leave and special disability leave will be combined into a new leave. It will be known by the name the Work-Related illness and injury leave. Employees hospitalised due to injuries or illnesses related to work are entitled to full pay and allowances.
- Fitment A: Fitment: The Commission recommends a standard fitting ratio of 2.57.
