Introduction
Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) is responsible for hiring people for the group C and Group B positions in the state cadre. For which the statutory body carried out various exams through its distinct applications and notification process.
Recently, Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) issued a notification for the recruitment of Nursing officers on their official website. A total of 4000 vacancies have been announced for the district cadre.
The selected candidate shall be posted and transferred within the district. For the purpose of this post, each medical college & hospital shall be treated as a “district”.
What is OSSSC?
The government of Odisha established the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) as a statutory entity in 1994 to conduct direct hiring for Group-C and Group-B positions in the State cadre. Recruitment is done through this Commission for more than 140 distinct cadres of positions/services under various government departments.
Eligibility Criteria - Educational Qualification
- The age limit of the candidate must be above 21 years. Moreover, a relaxation of 5 years is given to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC/women and relaxation of 10 years is given to PwD candidates.
- The candidate should be able to speak and understand the Odia language.
- Candidate should have passed 10th class with Odia subject.
How to apply?
The interested and eligible candidates can directly apply through log in to the official website of OSSSC. Following are the steps to apply.
- Firstly, if you haven’t registered on the official website of OSSSC, then the candidates are required to register at the official website of OSSSC.
- For the registration the candidate shall be asked for his signature, certificates and mark sheets, recent passport size photo, an email ID, and other identity proof documents such as Aadhar Card, PAN card, Voter ID card, etc.
Examination Fee
There is no examination fee.
Selection Process
The process of selection shall be made on the basis of a single merit list, that shall be issued after the written exam. Allotment of posts shall be done as per the same merit list.
Candidates are required to present the certificate of Registration in the Nursing Council of the State of Odisha.

OSSSC Syllabus 2022
- The exam test shall be objective type.
- There is a negative marking of .25 mark per the wrong answer.
- The syllabus for this exam consists of the standard syllabus as decided by the Indian Nursing Council Syllabus for a diploma in GNM/BSc Nursing.
