GATE 2018 EXAM PATTERN
2018 – The GATE 2018 test will be 3 hours long and will comprise 65 problems for a maximum of 100 points.
Multiple choice (MCQ) and numeric answer types (NAT) questions will be included in the examination.
GA questions are worth approx 15 points across all exams. The GA part has 5 questions for 1 mark each (for a total of 5 points) and 5 questions worth 2 marks apiece.
Negative marking will be applied to any MCQ answer that is incorrect. A bad response will be penalised 1/3 mark for a 1-mark MCQ. Similarly, a bad response would remove 2/3 of a score for a 2-mark MCQ.
In numerical answer type questions, there is no negative marking on incorrect answers.

GATE 2018
On behalf of the Entire Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, as well as the HRD ministry, the Indian Research institute plus seven Indian Technical institutes (at Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) jointly organise the examination. IIT Guwahati is hosting the GATE exam this year.
The GATE Exam Dates for 2018 were released in July 2017. As a result, applicants preparing for GATE 2018 have half-year to study with the exam date in view. Understanding the GATE 2018 test date is crucial since one must schedule their studies accordingly.
