What is a Million?
One million in the number system means one having six zeroes. So, starting from right, there are digits at units place, tens place, hundreds place, thousands place, ten thousands place, lakhs place, and ten lakhs place. In one million, there are zeros at units place, tens place, hundreds place, thousands place, ten thousands place and lakhs place, and there is one at ten lakhs place.

In simple terms, one can say that one million is equal to ten lakhs. So if one has to convert one million into rupees, it would simply mean that one million is equal to ten lakh rupees, same goes with two million, which means twenty lakh rupees.
Calculation of Million to Rupees
If one wants to convert million to rupees, one just need to multiply the amount with ten lakhs, suppose one wants to know what 3 million would mean in rupees, one just needs to multiply ten lakhs to three i.e., 100000 x 3 = 3000000, so 3 million means thirty lakh rupees.

This is to be noted that while million after single digit means lakhs i.e., for example, 3 million means thirty lakh rupees but million after two digits does not mean lakhs, it gets translated into rupees as crore. For example, 10 million means one crore, 11 million means one crore ten lakh rupees, 12 million means one crore twenty lakh rupees and so on.
