Relative motion, also described as relative velocity, is related to two bodies or objects referred to as their constituting frame of reference.

Relative motion can be observed with reference that can imply its provided motion. The difference can be some object or material or any surface that will be represented as the frame of reference. These two bodies can be able to understand relative sensors and differences between the same object variable to the different materials. Difference between motion and relative motion 

The definition of motion suggests that it is the process of movement of an individual or an object moving towards or away from something or in the same way being moved. it is measured by the proximity of time, distance, and speed. However, relative motion is the motion itself with a comparative understanding in terms of another object. For example; if a boat is being rowed all across the flowing river, the speed of the boat will be measured by the flowing river itself.  Similarly, when a car is moving across another car on the highway, it reflects the idea of relative motion. 

The relative motion of two bodies 

According to the definition of relative motion, the comparative explanation can be made when the object is in the provided format of two adjacent surfaces. It can be described as two bodies that can collide when it is in the position of a reference frame. This frame of reference will be able to describe the exact motion of those bodies as compared to the momentum. Therefore, the total momentum of the two bodies can be defined as zero. The relative motion of two bodies can be addressed in terms of the centre of mass.
