An Introduction to Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services like networking, storage, software, database and is done over the internet and divided into different categories.

A computer is one of the most important technology equipment. Almost every single person owns a computer in today’s world. The basic and main parts of a computer system are input devices, processing units, and output devices. These include devices like mouse, keyboards, joystick, microphones as input devices, CPU (Central Processing Unit In the field of Information Technology, an application program is responsible to carry out an activity in a computer system. It is an end-user program to perform tasks related to software.

A computer system and running an application software in the computer system is

very common these days. Application software is also known as an app that can

process inputs very quickly store your data and information according to the

accessibility and transmit your data after processing it with various

communication methods present and instant connectivity options and yield the

results as outputs. To carry out any activity in a computer system you need software

to process your input and this is where you need application software. Some application

software examples are Microsoft Word etc.

In this article, we will learn all about the application software present in a computer system and its features and applications.

ABOUT AN APPLICATION SOFTWARE

As the term application software refers to software that will perform specific functions and activities for the user who gives any instruction as an input to be carried out inside a process and give out the result expected. The purpose of application software is to help the user in carrying out specific activities and programs for example working in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. Also accessing various popular web browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, etc. These all are the most common examples of application software present in a computer system.

Application software these days in practicality encompasses mobile app category that includes various applications like Snapchat Instagram WhatsApp for communication and games like call of duty etc. Application software also installs various app versions of popular applications or features such as weather forecasting GPS which is a global positioning system, multimedia options, software for presentation skills, graphic video creators, etc.

WHAT ARE THE FUNCTIONS OF AN APPLICATION SOFTWARE?

There are many functions of application software and some of the most important ones are stated below:

  •       Data and information technology applications
  •       Helping in the management of documentation and exchange systems
  •       Financial and payroll management under business process
  •       Creating software for education and online study applications
  •       Software assistant for healthcare programs
  •       Manipulating data under elements like text, audio, video, etc

WHY DO YOU NEED AN APPLICATION SOFTWARE?

Application software is an end-user program that conducts single or multiple tasks at one time below are some of the reasons why you need application software in computers

It helps the user in processing specific activities or tasks. The task can be related to a variety of industries like business videography, multimedia etc. You can edit, create, add, delete in Microsoft Word and do another task together in the document.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN APPLICATION SOFTWARE AND A SYSTEM SOFTWARE IN A COMPUTER SYSTEM

The Difference between system software and application software in a computer system are:

System software in application software is two of the main software present in a computer system. Both, system software and application software make an integral part of information technology as most of the activities process or the processing structure depends on the running capacity of a computer system which is determined by the system software or the application software. Allah ka system software application software is also known as an application of just an app that performs a particular activity for the end-user who is accessing the functionalities of the app. Some of the most famous examples of application software include the following:

  1.     Web browser
  2.     Word processing applications
  3.     Spreadsheet applications etc.

Some other difference between system software and application software is that system software can run independently on its own whereas application software needs system software to run itself. System software system needs to be functional application software system doesn’t need to be functional. System software must be installed whereas an application software doesn’t need to be pre-installed as it can be installed later as per the need.

CLASSIFICATION OF APPLICATION SOFTWARE

There are majorly two classifications of Application Software:

  1.     General purpose applications
  2.     Custom software

General-purpose applications are off-the-shelf applications that are made with a full structure feature-packed design while the custom software is made and designed according to the need of the client.

Conclusion

Application software are one of the most important things in a computer system. It makes up a huge part in processing inputs and receiving outputs and carrying out activities from the end-user. It has many features like use for general purpose activities or custom-made software.
