Algebra Formulas

In the following article we are going to discuss algebra formulas.

Table of Content
  •

Algebra is a mathematical idea derived from the Arabic word al-jabr, which means ‘reunion of fractured parts, bone setting.’ Algebra is a comprehensive topic in mathematics that studies mathematical symbols and the rules for manipulating these symbols in formulas. It is a common thread that runs through practically all of mathematics.

Elementary algebra is required for all mathematical applications because it deals with manipulating variables as if they were numbers (as shown in the illustration). In education, abstract algebra is the study of algebraic structures such as groups, rings, and fields. Linear algebra, which deals with linear equations and linear mappings, is used in modern geometry presentations and has many uses (in weather forecasting, for example).

Many topics of mathematics fall under the umbrella of algebra, some of which have “algebra” in their titles, such as commutative algebra, while others, such as Galois theory, do not. Not only does the name algebra relate to a branch of mathematics and certain of its subdisciplines, but it also refers to specific algebraic structures, such as an algebra over a field, which is commonly referred to as an algebra. Boolean algebra and Boolean algebra are two terms that are sometimes used interchangeably to refer to a subarea and its main algebraic structures. A mathematician who specialises in algebra is known as an algebraist.

  • Algebraic Branches

The usage of a large number of algebraic expressions lessens the difficulty of algebra. Algebra is divided into several fields based on how expressions are used and how complex they are. These branches are listed below:

Pre-algebra

Elementary Algebra

Abstract Algebra

Universal Algebra

  • Algebra Formulas:

Numbers and letters are both included in algebra. The value of numbers is known since they are fixed. The unknown quantities in the algebra formula are represented by letters or alphabets. An equation or formula now consists of a combination of integers, letters, factorials, matrices, and other variables. This is essentially the algebra methodology. There are certain highly significant algebra formulas and equations that students must grasp while they study for their examinations. Basic or elementary algebra is built around these formulas. It’s not enough to memorise the formulas.

Below is a list of all the significant algebra formulas:

  • D2−E2=(D + E) * (D−E)

  • (D + E)2=D2 + 2DE + E2

  • D2 + E2=(D−E)2 + 2DE

  • (D−E)2=D2−2DE + E2

  • (D + E + c)2=D2  +  E2  +  c2  +  2DE + 2Dc + 2Ec

  • (D−E−c)2=D2 + E2 + c2−2DE−2Dc + 2Ec

  • (D + E)3=D3 + 3D2E + 3DE2 + E3;(D + E)3=D3 + E3 + 3DE(D + E)

  • (D−E)3=D3−3D2E + 3DE2−E3

  • D3−E3=(D−E) * (D2 + DE + E2)

  • D3 + E3=(D + E) * (D2−DE + E2)

  • (D + E)4=D4 + 4D3E + 6D2E2 + 4DE3 + E4

  • (D−E)4=D4−4D3E + 6D2E2−4DE3 + E4

  • D4−E4=(D−E) * (D + E) * (D2 + E2)

  • D5−E5=(D−E) * (D4 + D3E + D2E2 + DE3 + E4)

  • (D + E + z)2=D2 + E2 + z2 + 2DE + 2Ez + 2Dz

  • (D + E−z)2=D2 + E2 + z2 + 2DE−2Ez−2Dz

  • (D−E + z)2=D2 + E2 + z2−2DE−2Ez + 2Dz

  • (D−E−z)2=D2 + E2 + z2−2DE + 2Ez−2Dz

  • D3 + E3 + z3−3DEz=(D + E + z) * (D2 + E2 + z2−DE−Ez−Dz)

  • D2 + E2=1/2[(D + E)2 + (D−E)2]

  • (D + D) * (D + E) * (D + c)=D3 + (D + E + c)D2 + (DE + Ec + cD)D + DEc

  • D3 + E3=(D + E) * (D2−DE + E2)

  • D3−E3=(D−E) * (D2 + DE + E2)

  • D2 + E2 + z2−DE−Ez−zD=1/2[(D−E)2 + (E−z)2 + (z−D)2]

  • If n is D natural number, Dn−En=(D−E) * (Dn−1 + Dn−2E + … + En−2D + En−1)

  • If n is even (n=2k),Dn + En=(D + E) * (Dn−1− Dn−2E + … + En−2D−En−1)

  • If n is odd (n=2k + 1),Dn + En=(D + E) * (Dn−1−Dn−2E + …−En−2D + En−1)

  • (D + E + c + …)2=D2 + E2 + c2 + … + 2(DE + Ec + ….)

  • Laws of Exponents

    • (Dm) * (Dn)=Dm + n

    • (DE)m=DmEm

    • (Dm)n=Dmn

  • Fractional Exponents

    • D0=1

    • Dm/Dn=Dm−n

    • Dm=1/D−m

    • D−m=1/Dm

Conclusion:

Numerous mathematical disciplines are built on the foundation of algebra formulas. For understanding and solving difficult issues, algebra formulae are used extensively in topics such as equations, quadratic equations, polynomials, coordinate geometry, calculus, trigonometry, and probability. Algebra formulae are useful for completing complex calculations in the shortest amount of time and with the fewest steps possible. The formulas for algebraic expressions are used to simplify algebraic expressions. Let’s review what variables, constants, terms, and algebraic expressions are before learning these formulas. A variable is a quantity whose value changes over time and is commonly represented by an alphabet. A constant is a quantity with a set value. A term can be a variable, a constant, or a combination of variables and constants (product or quotient). The algebraic formulas have also been modified based on the complexity of the maths topics. Algebraic formulae exist for topics such as logarithms, indices, exponents, progressions, permutations, and combinations.

Ans – The required formula is a2 + 2ab + b2.

Ans – In algebra, an identity is a formula that is always true, regardless of the variables’ values. Algebraic identity states that the left-hand side of the equation is equal to the right-hand side of the equation for any value of the variables.

Ans – 1002-992 = (100+99) * (100-99)= 199 x 1 = 199.

Ans – 4-1/2 = 1/41/2 = ½

Ans – Equation is a statement that two expressions containing variables and/or integers are equal.
