Modern Indian History by Dr Mahipal Rathore

Modern History forms a major part of the UPSC Civil Services Examination – in both its Preliminary and Mains rounds. With questions becoming unpredictable in recent years, a sound understanding of the subject is required to help you clear the examination successfully.
In this Modern History lecture series by Dr. Mahipal Rathore, we begin with early 18th Century India – when the collapse of the Mughal Empire had begun. We will study the arrival of European colonizers, the complete colonization of India with the defeat of Indian kingdoms of Marathas, Mysore, Bengal, Awadh, Sikhs, etc, and the early resistance movements. After that, we will move on to the Revolt of 1857, the transfer of Indian Government to the British Crown, the birth of the Indian National Movement, the administrative changes over time, the branches of the National Movement, Gandhian resistance, left wing nationalism, all leading up to India’s Independence.
