Ayush minister name

The AYUSH Grid was inaugurated by Minister of State for AYUSH (independent charge) Shripad Naik, the AYUSH Minister, on 21st November 2016. The AYUSH Grid is a nationwide online information and services platform that has been designed to provide information on allopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. The platform will act as a one-stop-shop for all information related to AYUSH.

What will the AYUSH Grid provide?

The AYUSH Grid will provide details of registered practitioners, hospitals and clinics providing AYUSH services, educational institutions offering AYUSH courses, manufacturers and suppliers of AYUSH medicines and products, research institutes and laboratories engaged in AYUSH research, and other relevant information. The platform will also offer an online consultation service, whereby registered practitioners will be able to provide consultancy services to patients through the AYUSH Grid portal.

Establishment of AYUSH grid

The establishment of the AYUSH Grid is a significant step toward promoting the use of AYUSH therapies and medicines and will go a long way in popularising these systems of medicine. The portal will provide much-needed visibility to the AYUSH sector and help patients make informed choices about the type of treatment they wish to receive. In addition, the online consultation service will make it easier for patients to access the services of registered practitioners from across the country and make it easier for practitioners to connect with patients. Overall, the AYUSH Grid is a needed and valuable addition to the healthcare landscape.

Operations of Ayush Grid

The integration of AYUSH Grid, India’s IT backbone for AYUSH, with the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) was recently endorsed at a high-level meeting chaired by Vd. Rajesh Kotecha Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH. The AYUSH Grid team and the NDHM have already held several rounds of talks about this issue, agreeing on the procedures to be followed. This integration will provide patients with a wider range of alternatives for their health requirements. The inclusion of AYUSH practices in mainstream healthcare will also be expedited due to this integration. The Ministry launched the AYUSH Grid initiative in 2018 to create a uniform IT infrastructure for the sector. The entire AYUSH sector’s digitalisation will improve healthcare delivery, including research, education, various health programs, and drug rules. This will be beneficial to all stakeholders of AYUSH, including citizens of the country, which will assist in fulfilling numerous national and global healthcare-related objectives.

AYUSH Health Management Information System (AHMIS)

The AYUSH Health Management Information System (AHMIS) is the most significant of the several initiatives undertaken thus far in the project. The AHMIS was originally based in TEHRAN; an HMIS produced in-house by the Siddha Research Council, Chennai. Still, it has blossomed into a powerful, cloud-based information system used by nearly 100 Clinical facilities administered by the AYUSH Ministry. The scope of M/s Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bangalore, will be further expanded due to this announcement. The Ministry is also considering deploying AHMIS to AYUSH units outside the Central Government’s umbrella so that the entire AYUSH Sector can utilise it.

The second major success of AYUSH Grid

The AYUSH Grid team’s second major success has been creating and implementing the AYUSH Sanjivani mobile app and the Yoga locator mobile app to meet the insatiable needs of the Ministry’s concerned Divisions. Overall, the CHV program has served its purpose by promoting awareness in rural areas and enabling healthcare workers to serve their communities better. The activities of the various groups have been evaluated, with an emphasis on effectiveness and sustainability. Many NGOs are active in this area because they see it as a way to improve public health services while also providing economic or social benefits. Even though various lockdowns limited the project’s ability to assist with such crucial health issues as managing the epidemic, it was still able to support them.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the AYUSH Grid is a significant step forward in promoting alternative medicine in India and will assist in considerably boosting the number of AYUSH treatments accessible to patients. It is wished that the AYUSH Grid all the best in its future endeavours. The report also examined IT projects undertaken under the AYUSH Grid initiative. In the last two years, AYUSH Grid has successfully closed the digital gap in the AYUSH sector while also implementing several essential healthcare information technology projects.
