According to the statement, the procedure will be carried out by a comprehensive survey of people in every village and ward across the state. It will be based on current government data. The survey will include whether an indigenous person is still living in his or her permanent abode or has relocated. Wherever possible, Aadhar numbers will be captured.
By September 11, the lists will be available in villages and wards and on each district’s website. It said that claims and objections would be accepted for 30 days. All district deputy commissioners have been told to organise teams to perform the exercise and notify villages and tribal councils. Official records and evidence will be used to decide claims and objections. On or before December 10, each indigenous dweller will be granted a unique ID, and a final list will be compiled.
