It is believed that Kabir Das was born in the year 1398 AD in an area called Lahartara of Kashi. Kabir Das was a great poet of our Indian history who was born in the period of devotion and wrote such wonderful works that he became immortal. He was born from the womb of a Hindu mother and was brought up by a Muslim guardian. Despite being associated with both religions, he did not give preference to any religion and became a worshipper of Nirgun Brahman. He spent his entire life defending human values and serving humanity. He tried to finish the sati system and conveyed a statement of brotherhood to society.
Life of Kabir Das:
Their life has been full of struggles and clashes from the beginning, they were born from the womb of a Brahmin girl, and she left them near a pond for fear and dismay of public shame. A Muslim weaver couple passing by saw them in a basket, and they thought to adopt them, And they nurtured them like his own son. He did not get much education still, he believed in brotherhood and the vanishing sati system. But he was in the company of saints from the beginning of his life, and his thinking was also very different from others. From the beginning, they refuted and opposed the hypocrisy, cults, superstitions, and atrocities in the name of religion prevalent in our society, which is probably why they worshipped the formless spirit. Swami Ramananda Ji greatly influenced these.
Works and creations of Kabir Das:
He was extremely knowledgeable, and even though he did not get a school education, he was fluent in Awadhi, Braj, and languages like Bhojpuri and Hindi. Along with all these, he was proficient in languages like Rajasthani, Haryanvi, and Khadi Boli. The tableau of all languages is found in his works. Therefore his language is called ‘Sadhu Kadi’ and ‘Khichdi’.Kabir Das Ji did not take general education; for this reason, he did not write anything himself, but his disciples collected his words. One of his disciples, Dharmadasa, created a book called Bijak. This invoice has three parts, the first of which is; Sakhi, the second shabad, and the third Ramani.
Apart from all these, his compositions like Sukhnidhan, Holi Agam, etc., are extremely popular.
Education of Kabir Das:
As he was from a weaver’s family, he got the responsibility of carrying on the family’s legacy from the beginning of his life. Still, he took his religious education from Swami Ramanand . There was a time when Kabir Das was lying on the stairs of the ghat, and from there, Swami Ramananda passed. He inadvertently put his feet on Kabir Das , and after doing so, he started saying Ram-Ram Realised and thus, they were forced to make Kabir Das their disciple. And thus, he got acquainted with Ramanand . He was the dearest disciple of Swami Ramananda. He would immediately memorise whatever he said, always remember things said by him, always respect him, and always carry out his words in his life.
Conclusion:
It would not be wrong to say that there are many evils in our society even today. And in that period, Kabir Das refuted its total emphasis. He was expelled from society many times, but he did not leave his path. His birth is also an example of how, despite being related to both religions, both were denied, and even death, salvation is not achieved by being born or dying in a particular place or clan. All that is required for this is good intentions and recognising the presence of God in every person.
