5. Consensus oriented: Defines how different governance approaches need to be taken to focus on the interests of broader population sections with ease. 
6. Effectiveness and efficiency: To describe it, it involves all processes and measures taken for making the government more efficient and effective so that all the protocols are followed. 
7. Equality and inclusiveness: Define a governance measure that will include different groups, cults, age groups, genders, professions, and more while ensuring that no disparity is done. 
8. Accountability: In case the impacts are not expected, the regulatory body of the governance protocols needs to be answered. 

What is the Importance of Good Governance?

Right to Information 

According to Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Indian government can share information and news to the citizens without asking for anything in return. This has helped in increasing transparency and reduced the criminalization of politics. 

E-Governance

The E-Governance initiative was taken to ensure that everyone, starting from teenagers to working people, can access the governance protocols, citizen rights, and other such aspects with ease. In addition, it helped in introducing technologies and transforming administrative services.

Police reforms

Under the umbrella of police reforms, the Model Police Act of 2015 was initiated. It not only modernised the entire defence system of the country but also introduced advancements in the FIR lodging process, e-FIRs, and more. Also, a nationwide emergency number was launched just like the “911” helpline number, which operates equivalently throughout the US.

Good Governance Index 

On December 25, 2019, the Good Governance Index initiative was launched. It’s a measuring technique through which anyone can assess the impact of interventions and changes in the governance rules and protocols at state and union levels.
