Benefits of Natural Vegetation

There are many benefits of the plants and the trees that grow in a certain area without any type of intervention by a human. The forests tear several types of plants on the earth to help keep the water cycle for the humans and the other animals going, preventing erosion of the soil slows down the complete process of climatic changes. As you know climate changes can cause severe damage to the animals, vegetation, and us too. It has been estimated that in India more than 2 billion acres of the area have been covered by natural vegetation which is about 4% of the whole country’s area. Whereas in the United States a quarter part of all the forests is categorized under “natural” and the other half have been categorized as “cultivated”. The vegetation refers to all types of plant communities and includes man-made vegetation too. The forests help humans in making their lives easier as there are several benefits of the vegetation, it provides essential products such as wood, fruits, vegetables, perfumes, flowers, and essential oils.

There are multiple factors that affect the natural vegetation of any area and the soil of that area, the climatic conditions have a very important role to play in influencing the vegetation of the region.

The List of Important Vegetations in India

The major list of important natural vegetations in India has been mentioned below:

  1. The tropical evergreen rainforest: The rainfall must be about 200 cm, these are found in the regions of Meghalaya Assam, and Andhra Pradesh too.
  2. The Tropical deciduous forest (Monsoon Type forests): The precipitation must be between 100 cm to 200cm, these forests are found in Chhattisgarh, Bihar, or Odessa.
  3. The Mountain Forests: Mostly found in the mountainous regions like the Himalayas.
  4. The Mangrove Forests (Tidal forests): These tidal forests can prevent drought conditions, and are found in the deltas of the rivers like Krishna, Ganga, Godavari, etc.
  5. The Desert Vegetation: These types of forests are found in the Thar desert where the rainfall is less than 50 cm.
