They are not allowed to hold any other positions that generate income.

Compensation for the Governor
According to the Governor’s (Emoluments, Allowances, and Privileges) Act from 1982, the monthly salary of a Governor is Rs 1,10,000. This amount is specified in the law. Additionally, the Governor is entitled to a number of benefits and allowances, all of which are guaranteed to remain the same throughout his entire five-year term in office.
Duration of the Governor’s Term of Office
In India, the term of office for a governor of a state is five years; however, this term can end earlier in the following circumstances: The President of India can remove the Governor from office at any time. The Governor serves at the President’s pleasure. In point of fact, the Prime Minister of the nation is the one who gives advice to the President of the country and is the one who makes the decision regarding the removal of the Governor of a state. This decision is typically made on the grounds of gross delinquency, such as corruption, bribery, and violation of the Constitution.
The Governor has decided to step down from his position. Because they serve for a predetermined amount of time, governors do not reach the age of eligibility for retirement. In contrast to the case of the President, there is no way for a governor to be removed from office through the process of impeachment.
