STPI keeps internal engineering resources for consulting, training, and implementation. Services include Network Design, System Integration, Installation, Operations, and Maintenance of various application networks and facilities.

The Quality Management System serves as the foundation for process development. STPI centres are also ISO 9001 certified.

STPI definition

In 1991, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology established Software Technology Parks of India as an autonomous society (MeitY). STPI’s main goal has been to promote the country’s software exports. STPI serves as a “single-window” provider of services to software exporters. STPI has provided the software exporting community with statutory services, data communications services, incubation facilities, training, and value-added services. STPI has played an important developmental role in promoting software exports, with a focus on SMEs and startup units.

STPI has been promoting the IT/ITES industry by implementing the Software Technology Park (STP) and Electronics Hardware Technology Park (EHTP) schemes.

The IT-ITES industry’s phenomenal success has been made possible, in part, by the STP Scheme’s pivotal role. STP Scheme is a one-of-a-kind scheme that promotes the software industry and the growth of startups and SMEs without regard to location by providing incubation services, organising events, sponsoring/co-sponsoring events, participating in events, and export promotion efforts.

Overall STPI registered IT/ITES unit exports increased from Rs. 4,74,183 crores in FY 2019-20 to Rs. 4,96,313 crores in FY 2020-21.

Sub-centres are operational

The three sub centres, Semariya, Shivtarai, and Bamhani, comprise the second tier of the community programme. These sub-centres serve as cluster nodes and are staffed around the clock by two trained senior health workers.

Each sub-centre serves as a daily clinic providing health care, with a doctor-based clinic once a week, as well as a training facility and a location for various meetings for health workers and workers involved in animal health care, agriculture, and Phulwari. They also serve as an important community training site for nursing students enrolled in the organisation’s ANM and General Nursing Midwifery courses.

The sub-centres also serve as animal bite care centres and as level 1 newborn care centres for low birth weight babies before they are discharged from the hospital.

Function of STPI

The STPI performs all functions required to achieve its goals, which include the following: – 1 TO CREATE SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGY PARKS / CENTRES IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY;

  • (a) to perform all functions as the successor to the former Software Technology Park Complex, which was taken over by the STPI.
  • (b) to establish and manage infrastructure resources such as integrated infrastructure, international communication, data centres, incubators, and so on for 100 percent export-oriented units, as well as to provide similar services to users other than exporters.
  • (c) to carry out other export promotion activities such as technology assessments, market analysis, market segmentation, and the organisation of workshops/exhibitions/seminars/conferences, among other things.
  • (d) to facilitate specialised training in niche areas in order to meet the aforementioned objectives.
