Little Study on Schemes – Egiye Bangla

The Bengal government had taken the initiative to conduct medical tests in state-run schools under the Rashtriya Bal SwasthyaKaryakram, with the logical conclusion of providing treatment. The government also decided to pay for all medical expenses.

The ‘SishuSaathi’ scheme is the brainchild of West Bengal’s Chief Minister, with the promise of providing free treatment to children who require heart surgeries, regardless of their parents’ socioeconomic status.

In a significant boost to child health care in West Bengal, the State Government has partnered with three private hospitals and government hospitals to provide free paediatric cardiac surgery to 3,000 children each year through the ‘SishuSaathi’ or friends for children initiative, which began on August 21, 2013.

Government of west bengal schemes

The West Bengal government has several schemes. Kanyashree, Rupashree, Lakshmir Bhandar, Yuvasree, Sikshashree, Jai Bangla, Lokprasar, and Nijo Griha are a few examples. Swasthya Sathi, Gatidhara, Gitanjali, Khadya Sathi, Sabooj Sathi, Sabujshree, Sufal Bangla, Shishu Sathi, Sabala, and other names.

Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme: West Bengal State Scholarships for Minority Students will be fully funded from the state budget beginning in the fiscal year 2019-20.

WBTIDCL is the active agent for the Gatidhara Scheme. In the case of commercial vehicles, the State Government will provide a subsidy of up to 30% of the vehicle’s price or Rs 1 lakh.

Gitanjali Housing Scheme: The state government will provide Rs. 70 thousand per house in the plains and Rs.75 thousand per house in the Hill area and also in the Sundarban area under this Gitanjali project.

Hawker Support Scheme, 2020: Any hawker who is a permanent resident of West Bengal and is in extreme distress as a result of the outbreak of CoronaVirus (COVID-19) will be eligible for assistance.

Jai Bangla Scheme, 2020: All SC and ST people over the age of 60 are eligible for the scheme and will receive a monthly pension of Rs. 1,000.

In the interest of public safety, the JALADHARA Scheme provides financial assistance for the replacement or conversion of existing ‘BHUTBHUTI’s by safe and secure mechanically propelled boats.

Kanyashree

Kanyashree Prakalpa was created to ensure that girls stay in school and delay marriage until they reach the age of 18. Kanyashree’s strategy is simple: keep girls away from marriage until their exact age and keep them in the stream of their education; to do so, the government provides financial assistance to these girls. It has altered people’s behaviour, particularly those who want to marry their girl child before the age of 18.

  • A scholarship of Rs. 1000.00 is awarded each year.
  • A one-time grant of Rs. 25,000.00 is available.

The first is an annual scholarship of Rs. 1000/- to be paid to girls aged 13 to 18 for each year they remain in school, provided they are unmarried at the time.

The second benefit is K2, a one-time grant of 25,000/- payable when girls reach the age of 18, provided they are enrolled in an academic or vocational programme and are unmarried at the time.

The scheme’s main goal is to reduce dropout rates and prevent girls from marrying too young.

Karmashree

The KARMASHREE- The Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration is given to acknowledge, recognise, and reward the extraordinary, exemplary, and innovative work done by officers of the State Government’s Districts/Organisations.

AWARD CATEGORIES:

The award will be given for Public Administration Innovation and outstanding implementation of government schemes, policies, and programmes.

ELIGIBILITY: The award is open to State Government officers individually or as a group. Maximum of four (four) officials, including the applicant.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Applications with the recommendations of the competent authority may be submitted online. The Deputy Commissioner will be the competent authority to recommend appointments for district officers. 

For officers working in the Directorate, Commissionerate, or Secretariat, the application for the award may be recommended by the Director, Commissioner, and Senior Most Secretary of the concerned department.

Scheme of Sabar Ghare alo 

The State Government announced the “Sarba Griha Deep Prakalpa” (Sabar Ghare Alo) scheme under Special BRGF to achieve 100 percent household electrification in 11 backward districts of West Bengal, namely Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda, Murshidabad, Birbhum, South 24-Parganas, Uttar Dinajpur, Purulia, Paschim Medinipur, Jalpaiguri, Purba Medinipur and Bank. 

Up to March 31. 837 crores had been received for this purpose. The project’s execution began in July 2012 and was expected to be completed in two years. This project is expected to electrify 28214 villages, 21 lakh BPL households, and 17 lakh APL households.
