India is a democratic country and has a specific structure in the structure of governance. The President is the nominal head of the executive and is also the commander in chief of the Indian Armed forces. It is within the duties of the president to uphold, preserve and protect the laws as laid down by the constitution of India. The first office of the president was created on 26th January 1950. The president is the symbol of integrity and solidarity in the nation. In this study keynotes on Article 58 of the Indian constitution will be discussed as associated qualifications for election as a President.
Qualifications for election as a President: discussion
The President is considered to be the first citizen of the country. It is the president who presides over all the citizens of the country, as a governing head of the policies and procedures of the country. These responsibilities lie on a president because he or she is the first head of the state. He is a part of the union executive along with the vice president of the country. To be qualified as the president of India, there are certain rules and regulations that an individual needs to abide by to be elected as the nominal head of the country. These qualifications are mentioned under the Article 58 of the Indian constitution and the Qualifications for election as a President states that no individual can be a president if they do not meet the following criteria:
- The first and foremost criteria to be the president is that the Individual has to be a citizen of India.
- The individual being elected for the president of India has to be of age 35 and above.
- The president must be qualified for election as a member of the House of the people that is Lok Sabha.
- To be elected as a president, the person should not hold any office of profit under the central or state government. They can also not hold an office under any public authority.Â

The president of India is one of the most prestigious and eminent figures in the country. Therefore there are certain criteria that an individual must adhere to be qualified for election as a member of the Lok Sabha.Â
- The criteria demand that a particular individual has to be a citizen of the country.
- It is necessary that an individual is 25 years of age and above to be elected as a member of the Lok Sabha.Â
- An individual needs to tribe voter of a particular constituency in India
- The candidate who is appealing to be a member of the Lok Sabha who also belongs to a recognized political party has to have a proposer from their respective constituency. If the individual is an independent voter, he or she needs to have at least 10 proposers.
- A candidate needs to make a security deposit of 25,000.
Government of any state: discussion
The President of India is granted several powers. One such power authorizes the president to exercise the complete authority of governance of a state. In case an appointed governor of any state submits a report to the president that a government of any state fails to execute his or her responsibility in the process of maintenance of their state or the government is not complying with the directions laid down by the union. If the conditions are convincing, the President has complete authority to take over the governance of the state. This scenario is called the President’s rule which mostly arises during national emergencies.

The president is the nominal head of the executive and the position is not up for any election. The candidates are proposed for the position. There are certain qualifications for election as a president, this position is eligible to be held by any individual who is 35 years or above and the individual has to be a citizen of India.
