Tuberculosis or TB is called an infectious bacterial disease and it is caused by bacteria and spreads from person to person through the air.

TB or Tuberculosis is an infectious disease and is caused by bacteria. Bacteria are responsible for this disease and it is a life-taken disease. This disease is harmful but can be cured through proper medications. In this study, a detailed description of this disease will be provided. It will also describe the process of eradication of the disease and research regarding this. The time of eradication of this disease from India is also a part of discussion here. 

What is Tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis is considered to be an infectious bacterial disease and it is characterised by the growth of tubercles in the tissues. It happens especially in the lungs and there are different causes of this disease. It is mainly caused by bacteria and is spread from person to person. The microscopic droplets can be the cause for the spreading of this infectious disease as they are released into air. There can be some general symptoms of the TB disease, including fever, weight loss, feeling of sickness, and night sweats. The symptoms of TB disease that are related to lungs are chest pain, coughing, coughing up blood and many more. It is a disease that is curable and can be prevented.   

How was TB Eradicated?

TB is a disease that affects the lungs but it can be eradicated through a proper process. In the year 1943, Selman Waksman discovered a compound against tuberculosis. It is called streptomycin and when it was applied for the first time, the patient was cured. TB in this field can be eradicated through the implementation of a 25-year strategy. The process for cure also includes vaccination, measures of cattle, and culling.  It is a disease that has affected mankind since ancient times. The variant first originated from East Africa many years ago. Proper health care can cure this disease. Washing the hands after sneezing and coughing is an important part of this. These processes can be helpful for the eradication of this disease.

Dare2eraD TB is referred to as the white plague or the phthisis. In medical terms, it is called a bacterial infection and it generally affects the lungs. The disease like the brain, spine as well as kidneys affects different parts. Research in this matter says that it spreads from person to person through air. It can be seen that when an infected person coughs or sneezes then it is spread to another one. Therefore it says that TB is caused by bacteria called the mycobacterium. The present research in this matter says that the persons who have emigrated from areas and are affected by TB are the source of spreading this disease.  

When was TB Eradicated from India?

Tuberculosis in India has impacted this country greatly and caused many deaths on the continent. The government makes some statements regarding this matter. Major investments in the section of health care have been done and various initiatives are taken for this matter. Therefore it can be said that the government of India has taken some actions to eliminate this disease. It is considered to be one of the major health issues that the country faced in the past. In this matter, the Government of India makes an announcement in 2017. The announcement said that the government aimed to eliminate TB from this place by the year 2025.
