Brief Analysis on Nihangs

Nihang Sikhs are a type of warrior Sikh known as Akali and "guru ki fauj" Nihang Sikhs carry a dagger with them and wear blue Chola and plumed turbans. Nihang Sikhs never drink Alcohol.

Nihangs are armed Sikh warriors, and these are also called Akali; Nihangs are mainly originated from Fateh Singh, and Guru Hargobind has stated it Nihangs warriors also dominated the history of the Sikhs; they are known for their numerous victories; they are also known for their bravery and skills in the battle, they have also formed armed Sikh empires and Khalsa army. The dress which Nihangs wear is known as Khalsa swarupa, the colour of the dress is super electric blue, and Guru Gobind Singh selected this colour. Nihangs also wear iron bracelets made of steel; they also carry a traditional dagger known as the kirpan. 

Nishan Sahib

 Nishan Sahib is a Sikh flag, and the colour of the flag is super electric blue and bright yellow; in Sikh culture, the yellow colour indicates sacrifice and honour, and on the other hand, blue colour signifies courage and bravery, and even the blue colour in Sikh culture is of Khalsa, and yellow colour is of the gurus. They are known for their high turbans, the turbans are pointed at the ends, and sometimes they are also armed with an iron claw. The shape of the Nishan sahib is triangular, and the flag is made up of cotton, the meaning of Nishan sahib is ensing, and the flag is hoisted in gurudwaras; there is an emblem in the Nishan sahib which is known as Khanda, the Khanda is also worn by Nihangs, the Nishan sahib signifies Sikhs.

Nihang Singh

Nihang Singh is identified by their dress which is dark blue cloth and turban; Nihangs are armed with swords, daggers every time, they are also known as guru ki fauj, and they perfume their autonomous practice; the meaning of the word Nihang means fearless, and it is derived from a Sanskrit word called nihsanka, the word is also modified and pronounced as missing which means Sikh scriptures, the first-ever Nihang was the son of Guru Gobind Singh. He appeared in blue Chola and plumed turban for the first time.

Life Style of Nihang Sikhs

They wake up in the early morning, and their day starts with nitnem, and they read guru banis, including Dasam Granth and Sarab Granth. After reading banis, they go to their horses and travel long distances on their horses, they don’t smoke and drink alcohol, but they eat meat. They do not tend to buy it from the market; they shall slaughter the animal by themselves and eat it; their weapons and utensils are made up of steel.

How Nihangs are Organised

History of Nihang Sikhs
