According to a new report by the 2024 Lancet Commission, high cholesterol and untreated vision loss are new risk factors for Dementia.

About Dementia:

  • It is a general term for a decline in cognitive ability (i.e. the ability to process thought) severe enough to interfere with daily life.
  • It has an impact on decision-making, language, learning ability, memory, reasoning, orientation, and comprehension. However, the consciousness is not affected.
  • Several types of Dementia: Vascular Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and Frontotemporal Dementia.
