Key provisions of the Registration Bill, 2025:

The new law introduces provisions to enable:- Electronic presentation and admission of documents
- Issuance of electronic registration certificates
- Digital maintenance and management of records
- Aadhaar and Alternative Verification: Allows Aadhaar-based authentication while also providing for alternative verification mechanisms for those who do not possess Aadhaar or opt not to use it.
- Integration with Other Record Systems: Enables electronic integration of registration records with other government record-keeping systems, improving accessibility and reliability.
- Citizen-Centric and Accessible Registration Process
Aims to make registration processes:- More accessible, transparent, and citizen-friendly
- Simplified without compromising legal certainty and procedural safeguards
- Encouraging the use of plain, clear language in documents, especially for individual citizens and small businesses
- Modernization and Harmonization: Establishes a modern, harmonized, and enabling legal framework for document registration across India, capable of adapting to technological and socio-economic changes.
