National Symbols-National Anthem

The National Anthem represents the pride of the country, composed by the renowned poet of the world, Rabindranath Tagore, the constituent assembly had adopted it on January 24, 1950.

“Jana-Gana-mana” is the National Anthem of India, which is composed by the well-known poet, Rabindranath Tagore in Bengali. After the independence of India, the constituent assembly adopted it in Hindi version as the “National Anthem of India”. It was sung for the first time on “27 December 1911 at the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress”. Consisting of five stanzas, the poem reflects the pride and beauty of the country India. In the National Anthem, only the first stanza has been included which is sung in nearly 52 seconds.

The National Anthem of India represents the proud history of the country, the song renowned the country as the goddess, which has the power to unite the diverse country people. It is worshiping the country with its unique culture, scenario, which comprises the most agricultural region Punjab, the rich heritage of India. In addition, the region was enriched with natural resources, such as Sindh, Gujrat, West Bengal, the ruling cultural power of Marathas, Dravida. Apart from these, the beauty of India lies in the Himalayas region, with its parallel mountainous range who are protecting the country from the climactic challenges as well as from enemies. Similarly, it includes the mother nature of several rivers which enhance the cultivations, lives, such as Yamuna, Ganga. It praises all aspects of Indian heritage and pride, worshiping to get bliss from every part of Indian features. Hence, it was first performed in 1942, while India was under the control of Britishers, and it was time when Gandhi’s Non-Cooperation Movement was in motion. During that period, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose declared it as India’s National Anthem, he also stated that this song keeps reminding all the people of the country to stay united. 

The National Anthem reflects the vast diverse nation which is signifying that instead of all caste-creed and religion and languages, the country is under a single flag. The Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore shows the Bengali Sanskriti and reflects a message of “pluralism”. The history of the National Anthem tells a huge vir Gathas of this proud country. It was written in the year 1911. With its high remembrance and impact, the original song was transcripted in Hindi and Urdu by another poet Abid Ali. It has been sung by the orchestral or choral group in various national or civil programs to remind the people of India to be united. It was the first time it was sung in an orchestra in chorus by the English composer Herbert Murrill, as the first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru requested to do so. Apart from this, there is no legislation to sing the National Anthem in every state mandatorily, but everyone should be empathetic to the nation and bind them unitedly through this National Anthem.

The National Anthem symbolizes the war or battles for the independence of India from the Britishers. Nearly 200 years, India was under the control of Britishers, so many struggles, tortures were faced by the Indians, who gives the nation conquest. This Anthem represents the themes of “sovereignty, conquest, freedom”, the title of this song as Anthem is relevant and justified. According to Leonard Peikoff, the appropriateness of the title, that “it is upholding the central principles of the philosophy of the country India, including her heroes, values, reasons, volition, and individualism”. Honoring this National Anthem, the people are standing while playing the song at any place. 

Significance of National Anthem

Showing the allegiance or pride of the country, India, the native sings the National Anthem, it shows the love and devotion for the country. The significance of the National Anthem lies in the sovereignty, the Gathas of previous heroes who had sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country, India. In general, the song reflects patriotism, which represents the significant story of each state’s distinctive struggle over a long period of time. In addition, to show respect and honor, the Anthem has been sung by the people at important national events. It evokes the traditional history and beliefs of a country which creates a reminder for the residents of India regarding the “nation’s glory, beauty, and rich heritage”.It placed a value on “patriotism and nationalism”, “humility versus fearless honesty”, and revolution in thinking”. 

Conclusion

To honor the country as well as the great freedom fighters of India, who had fought and sacrificed their lives to save the country from British monarchism, the National Anthem plays a pivotal role. It shows the victory of the country after a great turmoil, the “god of density” reinforces for a long period of the nation’s Chariot.
