How to Apply for UGC NET 2022?
The application for the UGC NET 2022 Notification Exam has just begun. Candidates can complete the UGC NET Form by adhering to the instructions.
1. Registration Page
Fill out the required information and write down the application number that the system generates.
- The candidate’s name, mother’s name, and father’s name in capital letters, as they appear on their secondary school diploma or an equivalent board or university certificate.
- A certificate from an analogous Board or university that includes your birthdate in the format dd/mm/yyyy as stated in your secondary school diploma.
- Candidates are required to submit their own mobile number and email address.
- For each application, only one email address and one mobile number are valid.
2. Completely fill out the UGC NET Exam Form:
- Name, gender, parents’ names, email address, mobile number, date of birth, and other personal details are included.
- Permanent address: contains address, pin code, district, state code, etc.
- Education: The applicant must provide information about their education, such as the name of the course, the college, the year of graduation, the minimum passing score, etc.
- The “Next” button needs to be clicked by candidates after all the details have been entered.
3. Signing and uploading scanned photographs
- Only JPG/JPEG files should be used for the candidate’s photo and signature.
- The photo’s scanned image should have a file size of between 10kb and 200kb. The image does not need to be attested.
- The signature’s scanned image should have a file size of 4 KB to 30 KB. On white paper, using a black ink pen, the candidate should sign his name in full in running handwriting before scanning and uploading.
- Spectacles are only permitted if they are worn often.
- Polaroid pictures and images created on a computer are not permitted.
- The identical passport-size photo must be used for both pasting on the attendance sheet at the testing location and uploading with the online application form.
4. Payment of the fee and the status of the online application form’s receipt of the fee Pay the cost using SBI, Syndicate, HDFC, or ICICI Payment Gateway (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or Paytm), and save the receipt as proof of payment.
After the fee has been successfully sent, save, save, and print a copy of the confirmation page for your records and future use.

Eligibility Criteria (Educational Qualification, Age Limit, Age Relaxation)
To take the UGC NET 2022 exam, candidates must apply after reviewing the eligibility requirements. Before submitting an application for the UGC NET form, interested candidates must review the UGC NET 2022 Eligibility Criteria. Read the points below. Here are some general guidelines:
UGC NET 2022 Educational Qualification
- The UGC NET 2022 Examination is open to applicants who are enrolled in master’s degree-equivalent programmes, who have taken their qualifying master’s degree (Final Year) examination but have not yet received their results, or whose qualifying examination has been postponed.
- Candidates are eligible for this test if they received at least a 55 percent grade in their master’s degree or equivalent exam in the humanities (including languages), social sciences, computer science & applications, electronic science, etc. from a university or institution recognised by the UGC.
- Candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layers, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are eligible for this test if they received at least 50% (without rounding off) in their Master’s degree or equivalent examination.
- Candidates who passed the UGC-accredited States Eligibility Test (SET) for Assistant Professor prior to June 1, 2002, are excluded from taking the NET and are qualified to apply for Assistant Professor positions throughout India.
- Candidates who identify as transgender are entitled to receive the same fee, age, and NET qualification requirements (JRF and Assistant Professor) relaxations as SC/ST/PwD categories.

Age Relaxation: Candidates who fall under the OBC (Non-creamy layer), SC/ST, PWD, Transgender, and female applicant categories, as well as applicants who are applicants, are given a relaxation of up to 5 years.
Reservation Policy
UGC-NET is subject to the Government of India’s reservation policy. According to this, 10% of seats are set aside for the category General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS) in Central Universities and Institutions that are considered to be Universities, 15% for the category Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5 percent for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer (OBC-NCL).
According to the definition of PwD in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act of 2016 (RPwD Act, 2016), there will be horizontal reserves in each category for PwD of 4 (four) percent (source-Press Release by UGC).
UGC NET 2022 - Important Points
There are four steps in the UGC NET form procedure. Candidates should have the following in mind:
- A candidate is only allowed to submit one application. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate, i.e., more than one application, will not be accepted.
- The question paper will only be available in English and Hindi.
- Each question has 02 (two) marks, and the candidate receives 02 (two) marks for each accurate response.
- No points are deducted for wrong answers.
- No points will be awarded for questions that are not attempted, not replied, or marked for review.
- Candidates will have the opportunity to revise their online applications, according to UGC NET administrators.
- Only JPG/JPEG files should be used for the candidate’s photo and signature.
- The photo’s scanned image should have a file size of between 10kb and 200kb. The image does not need to be attested.
- The signature’s scanned image should have a file size of 4 KB to 30 KB. On white paper, using a black ink pen, the candidate should sign his name in full in running handwriting before scanning and uploading.
- Do not deliver the confirmation page printout to the authorities office.
UGC NET 2022 - Exam Pattern

- An inaccurate response does not result in a deduction of points.
- The candidate will receive two marks for each appropriately answered question.

Selection Process
- The number of applicants who must meet the qualifications (total slots or eligibility for assistant professor) must equal 6% of those who applied and appeared in both NET papers.
- The candidate must have taken both exams and obtained at least a 40% aggregate score in both papers combined for General (Unreserved) category candidates and at least a 35% aggregate score in both papers combined for all candidates belonging to the following reserved categories in order to be considered for “JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor” and “Assistant Professor.”
Admit Card
The UGC NET Admit Card 2022 has been published by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NTA will activate the admit card download link on the UGC NET 2022 official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The UGC NET 2022 Admit Card contains information about the Examination Center, Date, and Shift (Timing) for eligible candidates. No candidate will be permitted to show up at the testing location on a day or time other than the ones specified on their admit card. Candidates are recommended to bring only the items listed below with them to the exam location:
a) Admit card and properly filled-out Self Declaration (Undertaking) printout, both of which were downloaded from the NTA website.
b) A straightforward, clear ballpoint pen.
c) Another photo to be pasted on the attendance sheet
d) Individual hand sanitizer (50 ml).
f) A personal water bottle that is clear.
f) Sugar pills or fruits (such as bananas, apples, or oranges) if the candidate has diabetes.
Answer Key
The Final Answer Key for the questions has been made available by the NTA and will be made available online following the exam. The website allows test takers to log in and access their question papers, marked replies, and final answer keys.
Exam Result
Once the UGC NET Exam has been completed, the NTA will post the UGC NET Result 2022 along with the scorecard on the official website. On the official website, the UGC NET Result 2022 will be made public. Out of 8,60,976 registered applicants for the UGC NET June 2021 session, 5,26,707 participants showed up for the exam. By entering their application number, date of birth, and password to access their registered accounts, candidates can check their results and get the UGC NET scorecard.
Scorecard & Cut Off

Exam E-Certificate
The E certificate was awarded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to honour all of the UGC NET Exam candidates who were chosen. The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) UGC NET E-certificate is valid for three years from the date of result announcement or certificate issuance. The E-certificate for the Assistant Professor position has no time limit.
