Photosynthesis is known as a process through which green plants and some other organisms use light energy to get chemical energy. At the time of photosynthesis, the green plants capture the light energy and use it to convert water, minerals and carbon dioxide and also into energy-rich organic compounds. The energy produced by the photosynthesis process is carried out by plants. The by-product of the photosynthesis process is oxygen. Besides green plants, the photosynthesis process also applies to other organisms as well which includes various prokaryotes like cyanobacteria, green sulfur bacteria and purple bacteria. These organisms also exhibit photosynthesis as same as the green plants. In the process of photosynthesis, each chloroplast contains the green-coloured pigment known as chlorophyll, which absorbs the light energy molecule whereas oxygen and carbon dioxide enter via the smallest pores of the stomata which are present in the epidermis of leaves.
