The National Testing Agency conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) every year. The examination is taken by students who want to get admission in engineering programmes in prestigious institutions namely, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT), and various others. The candidates have to clear 12th standard with a minimum 75% to appear for JEE exams.
The JEE exam comprises two stages namely JEE Main and Advanced. The subjects covered in JEE Main are Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. According to candidates who took the JEE Main 31 August Shift 1 exam, the general difficulty level of the exam was moderate. Mathematics was challenging and time-consuming. A lot of questions were asked from Integration, Differentiation, Definite and Indefinite Integrals, Calculus, Parabola, and Binomial. Chemistry was the simplest of the three sections. Organic Chemistry was given a high weightage, as were biomolecules, P-blocks, name processes, and polymers. In addition, the majority of questions were from the Organic and Inorganic sections. When it comes to Physics, questions from topics such as Semiconductor, Communication, Electrostatic, Logic Gate, Transistor, and Modern Physics were asked.
