The SBI Clerk Exam is divided into two phases: the preliminary exam and the main exam, followed by the LPT test (if applicable). The SBI Clerk 2023 exam schedule for Phases 1 and 2 is shown below:

The 100-mark Preliminary Examination consists of Objective Tests and is conducted online. 20 minutes are allotted for each subject, for a total of an hour.

The Bank will determine the minimum passing score required for candidates to be eligible for the test. There will not be sectional cutoffs. Shortlisted candidates for the Main Examination represent an adequate number of applicants in each category, as determined by the Bank (about 10 times the number of openings, subject to availability). 

SBI Clerk Mains Exam Pattern

There is a 200-mark Objective Test in the SBI Clerk Main Exam. The SBI Clerk Mains Exam pattern is displayed in the table below in detail.

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM/DESM candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the bank. No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects are prescribed. Section wise marks will not be maintained.
