The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts the IBPS Clerk Recruitment annually for the post of Jr. Asst. / Clerk for 11 public sector banks. This year IBPS Clerk 20233 exam will be held on the 26th and 27th of August and 2nd of September 2023. 

The exams will be in two stages – prelims and mains. The result of the two will be released separately on the official website of the institute. Candidates can access their scores using their login credentials. The final IBPS Clerk result will be based on the marks of the main examination. These marks are normalized out of 100 to prepare provisional allotment lists.

Normalization of Marks

The IBPS examination is conducted in several shifts. The question papers provided too are different. In order to provide equal evaluation, the scores of the candidates are normalized. The normalization is done by using the equity-percentile process. Under this, the percentile rank of candidates in different shifts is calculated. Up to two decimal points are provided for calculation purposes. The final scores after the normalization are rounded to two decimal digits. After this, the cut-off percentile is achieved based on the number of vacancies. Finally, the candidates are shortlisted according to the cut-off marks. The process of normalization provides the candidates with a fair evaluation even if the examination was difficult.

IBPS Clerk Result - Tie-Breaking Method:

In case two or more candidates secure similar marks, they are ranked on the merit list according to the date of birth. However, the candidate older in age is given the preference.

What After the IBPS Clerk Result is Announced?

After the declaration of the Mains result, the board issues the final merit list on its official website. The Merit list is prepared considering the overall cut-off and the number of available vacancies. Subsequently, the selected candidates are placed in different public sector banks.
