  3. WORK STUDY Work study is simply the study of work and it is the analysis of work into smaller parts followed by re-arrangement of these parts to give more effectiveness at a lesser cost. It examines both the method and duration of work and is also known as time and motion study. I. Method-Study : It is the systematic recording and critical examination of the existing ways of doing a job to develop more easier and effective ways of doing the same job. The aim is to increase effectiveness and productiveness 2. Time Study (Work Measurement) : It is the application of techniques designed to establish time for a qualified worker to carry out a specified job at a defined level of performance.

  7. PROCESS CHARTS A. Outline Process Chart: It gives a bird eye view of the process and includes only two symbols that is operation and inspection. It does not give details about work. B. Flow Process Chart: It is detailed version of outline process charts and it records all the events sequence wise. This chart gives a complete picture of what is being done and helps to understand the facts and their relationship in a better way.All the process chart symbols are used here. C. Two handed Process Chart: It records the activities of left hand and the right hand of an operator related to each other. The activities of the two hands can be synchronized by providing a common time scale and is commonly used for repetitive and short cycle operations.
