Solanaceae is a large family,known as potato family. It is world widely distributed. Plats are mostly herbs,shrubs and small trees. Stem is herbaceous rarely woody., Underground stem in potato. Leaves are alternate,simple,rarely pinnaale compound,exstipulate,reticulate venation . Flower is solitary,bisexual,actinomorphic,cymose in solanum.calyx and corolla consists of 5 sepals and 5 petals. In androecium 5 stamens are present. Gynoecium consists of two carpels. Fruits are berry or capsule. Many seeds are present,endospermous.
