Aestivation__The mode of arrangement of sepal or petal in a flower bud is called aestivation.Valvate,twisted,imbricate,vexillary are the different types of aestivation.Valvate_When the edges of sepal or petals just meet one another without overlapping.eg.calotrophis.Twisted_ one margin of an appendage overlaps that of the next and so on.eg.china rose.Imbricate_Sepal and petal overlaps one another but not in particular direction.one appendage completely inside,one completely outside,others regularly overlaps.eg.cassia.Vexillary _Five petals are here.;the largest (standard) overlaps the two lateral petals(wing)which over lap the two smallest anterior petal(keel).eg.pea. Androecium is the third whorl.It is composed of stamens.Filament and anther are the parts of stamen.
