Seed is a mature ovule containing embryo.Embryo consists of radicle,an embryonal axis and one or two cotyledons.Seeds are of two types,endospermous and nonendospermous.S t. of dicots seed_Outermost covering is the seed coat.Testa and temen are the layers in seed coat.Hilum is the scar.Micropyle is the small pore.Embryonal axis and cotyledons are present.Plumule and radicle are the ends of embryonal axis.seed with endosperm is endosperm ous and seed with out endosperm is non endospermous.St. of monocot seed-Aleurone layer is the layer which separating embryo and endosperm.Embryo is small , consists of one large shield shaped cotyledon called scutellum.Plumule and radicle are enclosed in sheaths called coleoptile and coleorhiza.
