Placentation is the mode of arrangement of ovules on the placenta within the ovary.The different types of placentation are marginal,axile,parietal,free-central and basal placentation.ln marginal placentation the ovary is one chambered and the placenta forms a ridge along the ventral suture of the ovary.eg pea.In axile placentation ovary is multi carpellary syncarpous,and multilocular.eg.china rose.Parietal placentation is seen in multi carpellary and syncarpous postil.
