Cell wall is the delimiting layer in plant cells and is freely permeable. It is a rigid, non living layer generally made up of cellulose, hemicellulose and pectin. It provides shape and rigidity to plant cells. There are four different types of cell junctions: - tight junctions - Gap junctions - Desmosomes - Hemidesmosomes Plasmodesmata are examples of gap junctions.
