The endomembrane system is a system comprising of all those membranous cell organelles which are well coordinated to each other with respect to function and include endoplasmic reticulum, golgi bodies, lysosomes and vacuoles. Mitochondria, plastids and peroxisomes do not coordinate with the functions of these organelles, hence are not a part of endomembrane system.
