The Reserve Bank of India has released the Composite Financial Inclusion Index (FI-Index) for the year ended 31st March 2022. India’s Financial Inclusion Index has improved to 56.4 from 53.9 in the previous year 2021.

Recently, the Manipur Assembly has resolved to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and establish a State Population Commission (SPC).

Statement 1 is not correct:  NRC is a register prepared in respect of each village, showing the houses or holdings in a serial order and indicating against each house or holding the number and names of persons staying therein. The register was first prepared after the 1951 Census of India and since then it has not been updated until recently. It has been updated in Assam only for now and the government plans to update it nationally as well.

Recently, India and China held a special round of military talks on Air space Violations at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point in Eastern Ladakh.

Statement 1 is correct: Air Sovereignty is the fundamental right of a sovereign state to regulate the use of its air space and enforce its own aviation law. State controls the entry of foreign aircraft into its territory and that persons within its territory are subject to its laws. On World Biofuel Day 2022, the government of India announced a 2nd generation (2G) ethanol plant to be set up at the Indian Oil Corporation’s refinery in Haryana. This ethanol plant will help reduce air pollution from the Delhi and the NCR region along with generating additional income and green fuel.

Option (D) is correct:  Ethanol is one of the principal biofuels, which is naturally produced by the fermentation of sugars by yeasts or via petrochemical processes such as ethylene hydration. It is a domestically produced alternative fuel most commonly made from corn. It is also made from cellulosic feedstocks, such as crop residues and wood. Ethanol plant will also utilize maize and sugarcane waste besides paddy straw to produce ethanol.
