The history of the Indian freedom struggle has various stages and the nationalist movement that occurs during that period brought numerous marked changes in Indian history.

India has enriched with variety and a rich form of history that is not devoid of any type of freedom struggle. India has fought for freedom for 200 long years and freed itself from the shackles of the typical British Empire. The “freedom struggle” of India is one of the longest draws in world history. India has struggled for freedom with plenty of events from the great mutiny to the partition of India. The demand for British rule has become a heavyweight on the nation, top freedom fighters have decided to quit British rule from India with their unparalleled level of militancy and bravery.  

The discussion about the “modern India-Freedom struggle” has gone through some significant events. Various events have rattled the British Empire. The major events of the Indian freedom struggle stated below,  

The great mutiny

The first-ever war of Indian “freedom struggle” history was The Great Mutiny 1857, this war was started on March 29 in the year of 1857. With bravery and courage, Sepoy Mangal Pandey started this war by attacking his British officer who was the 34th Bengal Native Infantry. Unfortunately, his comrades of that war, in the end, refused to join him at the end, and the British East India Company snatched the victory. 

Formation of Indian National congress 1885

In the year of 1885, Indian National Congress was established to support the Indian freedom struggle. At that time, India needed a political party to support and guide the movement critically and Indian National Congress kept this responsibility very well. During that period, this political party guide the struggle well along with Muslim League. 

The comeback of Mahatma Gandhi in 1915

The “History of Indian Freedom Struggle” was enriched with the comeback of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa. After that, his wise ideas and moves started giving success to the maximum revolt that Indian freedom fighters did. The father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi led the “Indian freedom struggle” to a higher level. 

The Pact of Lucknow 1916

The famous Lucknow pact was signed to make a strategic agreement between the “Muslim League” and the “Indian National Congress”. In this pact, Muhammed Ali Jinnah played a pivotal role strongly and he made decisions that were effective for both parties. The Lucknow pact after its implementation put huge critical pressure on the British Empire. This pact takes a more liberal approach that was mainly to let India run with its freedom. 

Satyagraha 1917

This was the first movement from the side of Indian farmers in the field of Champaran, this movement was based on growing Indigo illegally due to the order of the East India Company. Indigo was a toxic thing that ruined the texture of soil and made it barren for life long. For resisting this action, the group of farmers in Champaran decided to raise their move against British raj to save their land from toxic Indigo manufacturing. 

The massacre of Jallianwala Bagh 1919

This was the most brutal event of the Indian freedom struggle, in the year of 1919 the British government had released a rule that banned all types of gatherings that were against them. However, being unaware of this act of the British Empire, more than a thousand Indians were gathered in the ground of Jallinwala Bagh in Amritsar. The gathering was formed to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi. The former Brigadier of that time General Dyer ordered their army to start a continuous open firing for ten long minutes over that mass gathering.  

Non-Cooperation movement 1920

In the year of 1920, the father of the nation led this movement to resist the presence of the British Empire. For supporting the event, he ordered the Indians not to support or use goods manufactured by British rule. 

Entry of Subhash Chandra Bose and creation of Indian National Army 1921-1943

This period was the most effective and toughest period for the British Empire and the golden part of the “history of Indian freedom struggle”. With the help of the Indian National Army, Subhash Chandra Bose fought against British rule with the assistance of 20,000 soldiers including women.    

Partition of India 1947

In the year of 1947, India has achieved its freedom and based on the Indian Independence Act India was divided into two parts as India and Pakistan, the former monarch announced this on the 18th of July 1947.

After the entire analysis, it can be concluded that India has fought massively to achieve its freedom. In the “history of Indian freedom struggle”, there are various events that occurred to grab liberty from the British raj. The role of Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi is undeniable in times of thinking about the liberty of India. The incident of Jallinwala Bagh was the turning point of the beginning arm war and after that, all non-violent leaders also decided to remove the British Empire from India to increase the peace among Indians.
