India not only has diversity in its history or culture it has more than 43 historical places that increases the majesty of this country.

India is augmented with historical events and these events give this country a majesty of structure that enriches the historical zones of India. The “historical places” ooze out plenty of ancient historical structures along with famous monuments and statues. The ancient sculptures are the gift of the historical events which at this time become renowned tourist spots that are famous for being a historical place. The “historical places”  are a sign of bravery, war and strength of history. The monuments and the statues are mainly built to mark an occasion or incidents that happened in their time. These items are the  symbol of the history that India faced for a long time.    

Taj Mahal (Agra)

This monument was made by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1648, for keeping the memory of his wife Mumtaz Begum. The construction work of this masterpiece was started in the year 1632 and it took 16 long years to get completed. This masterpiece enhances the list of historical places of India with its beauty and glow.  

Victoria Memorial (Kolkata)

This place was truly made to dedicate the devotion and faith towards the Queen Victoria of England. The construction of this sculpture started in 1906 but ended with the effort of Prince Wales in the year of 1921. This is one of the famous historical places of India and right now it has become a famous museum with more than 25 art galleries that shows the ethnicity of the British Empire along with several dear manuscripts and artworks and things.    

Agra Fort (Uttar Pradesh)

This is the most glorious and majestic fort of India and it was constructed by Mughal Emperor Akbar. Agra Fort is one of the leading Indian artworks that shows the magnificence of the Mughal Empire. This historical place has wide 2.5 km enclosure walls that create a stunning experience of the imperial city. This place is situated on the eastern side of the Yamuna river; it has a crescent shape that enhances its works of beauty.

Red Fort (Delhi)

The Red Fort is a complex type of historical sculpture, it was the palace of Shahjahanabad, it was built with the order of the Fifth Emperor of India.. This fort was built with red stones with massive encasement of walls that increase its beauty and make this one of the leading historical places in India.

Sanchi Stupa (Madhya Pradesh)

The Sanchi Stupa is the oldest historical place in India, it was originally built in the 3rd century BCE during the time of the Mauryan emperor Ashoka.    

Mahabodhi Temple (Bodh Gaya)

This temple is the first temple that was made by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC, this is one of the renowned historical places that shows the history of Buddhism. This temple has more than four holy sites that show the sculpture of Lord Buddha’s life. 

Gwalior Fort (Madhya Pradesh)

This is the greatest historical place of Madhya Pradesh, this fort was built by Rajput king, Suraj Sen. This art presents a story of his life, this fort was made in honour of a saint who saved his life in the time of his crisis.   

Cellular Jail (Port Blair)

Cellular jail was the colonial prison of the Andaman Nicobar island, and this historical place has the darkest past than other historical places. This jail is also known as Kala Pani and this prison was used by the British government during the era of the British Empire. Thai prison was mainly used to keep and exiled the political leaders who became problematic for the British Raj. This jail was built in the year 1906 with a gigantic area that covers it,  it was the only open jail of that time in Andaman.  

Conclusion

Through the analysis of historical places in India, it can be concluded that in India there are near about fifty places. These places  historically enriches and increases the standard of Indian history by making it diverse in nature. The chapter of discussion highlighted that India is the home ground of plenty of battles and wars. This is the only country that has various dynasties and empires in one nation and every single one of them put its mark as a historical place in India. The story and design of the Historical monuments have influenced the cultural history that increases the count of Historical places in India
