Pakistan, officially known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is part of South Asia. The population of the country is around 225.18 million, with the Muslim community making up the majority of it. The total area of Pakistan is approximately 770,880 square kilometres. The capital of Pakistan is Islamabad, one of the most developed cities of Pakistan. The first Prime Minister of the country was Liaquat Ali Khan, made after the formation of the modern state of Pakistan, constituted on 14 August 1947.

History of Pakistan
When Pakistan became independent on August 14, 1947, it was divided into two parts: West Pakistan (current-day Pakistan) and East Pakistan (current-day Bangladesh). The constitution of 1956 made Pakistan an Islamic democracy. The civil war in Pakistan and conflict with the Indian Army in 1971 resulted in the creation of Bangladesh, which was East Pakistan earlier. Military rule has been implemented thrice in the democratic country from 1958 to 1971.

Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan. It is the most organised and developed city in Pakistan. However, Karachi was the capital of Pakistan before 1960. In 1960, the newly constructed city of Islamabad replaced Karachi and became the new capital of Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif was elected as the Prime Minister thrice in 1990, 1997 and 2013. Late Benazir Bhutto was the first lady Prime Minister of Pakistan. The current PM of Pakistan is Shehbaz Sharif, who took office on 11 April 2022 and became the 23rd Prime Minister of the nation.
