  •

Rule detection can be done based on alphabetic tests and the rule detection of letters. The rule detection test can improve the reasoning ability among students. Candidates should be capable of finding out the logical order of the alphabet. Candidates should be capable of rule detection after knowing the possible order of letters and it will enhance their reasoning skills.

Alphabet test

The alphabet test is an easy and important test to improve the mental ability of the students and in this test students are asked to arrange the letters and words according to the different types of arrangement. Candidates can arrange the questions based on alphabetical order. Students should know different types of rule detection systems to solve the problem. This test will improve the thinking ability of the students.

Concepts of alphabetical order

This is very important to know the basic alphabetic order to solve the test. Enough practice can improve the mental ability and thinking capability of the candidates. Candidates can be asked to find out letters between two alphabets and the proper place of the English letter. Candidates have to rearrange the letters or alphabets and they have to find out the solution by arranging them in the following order. There can be different types of questions based on the alphabet. It may be “multiple letter segments”, “backward, and second half backwards” that are in the changed order. The rule detection test consists of different types of tests like alphabet tests, verbal and non-verbal reasoning tests, and others. Sometimes candidates are asked to find a letter that is not arranged alphabetically. This is very important to know the forward and backward position of the alphabet and their number position as well to solve such types of questions.

A different section of alphabetical order

Alphabet series

This type of question has no proper formula, it needs more practice to solve it. For example, here is a question “Which of the following options is fifth to the left of the 11th letter from the left in a forward series of the alphabet?” Option-1. H 2. G 3. I 4. E. for solving these questions candidates should know the 11th letter from the forward series of the alphabets. K is the 11th letter in the forward series and G is the fifth letter from the left of K. Option 2 G is the right answer.

“Problems related to letter gap”

This question is formed based on logic and candidates have to quickly remember the series of the alphabets.

For example, here is a question- 1. AZY 2. BYX 3. CXW. What will be the fourth series?.

Candidates have to think of the logical order of the letter series and try to find out the next series. In the given option, the first letter of each series is simultaneous such as A, B, C so the next letter will be D and in the second position the letters are arranged in the backward direction and the next letter will be W. In that way, the answer will be DWV. Candidates have to identify the forward and backward series of the alphabet to solve this question.

Word formation

This is another rule detection test that can be solved by logical thinking skills. Candidates should have a strong vocabulary to solve the test. For example, here is a question- “If the name of a game is formed by rearranging the letters of the word MODBANTIN, then what will be the first and the last letter of the name?”. Candidates have to remember the name of the games that they know and try to find out which game name contains such letters. The answer will be “BADMINTON” and the option will be B, N.

“Words in alphabetical order”

This is another rule detection test that can be solved by knowing the proper alphabetical series. Candidates can be asked to arrange the words in alphabetical order and it is similar to dictionary order. For example, arrange these words in the alphabetical order-1. Fame 2. Shame 3. Name       4. Came. Candidates have to find out in the forward series of the alphabet which letter will come first and which will be C. Then they have to find the position of the second letter. It will be A. In that way, the answer will be 4132.

The rule detection test

  • The rule detection test contains different types of tests of series of alphabets and series of letter, word formation, and others
  • Candidates have to find out the rules of the series and solve the problem
  • It improves the problem-solving capabilities among the candidates through different pictures and diagrams

Conclusion

Rule detection is the logical reasoning test that can be done with the alphabet, letters, and other pictures and diagrams. It will enhance mental ability and problem-solving skills. A candidate can be an expert to solve the problem by doing more practice. This test has no proper rule and candidates have to find out the answers based on their problem-solving capabilities.
