The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC CPO examination to select candidates for the post of sub-inspector and inspector in various government departments. The commission has released the SSC CPO 2023 exam date on 27th April 2023. The examination will be conducted from the 3rd to the 6th of October 2022.
SSC CPO Exam Pattern
The examination is conducted in three phases:
Tier 1 – Objective Multiple Choice CBT (online)
PET/ PST – Running, Long Jump, High Jump and Short Put
Tier II – Objective Multiple choice
SSC CPO Exam Pattern – Paper 1
The paper 1 examination pattern is given below:

The first paper will contain 4 subjects
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- General Knowledge & General Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Comprehension
Each subject will have 50 one-mark questions
Negative marking is applicable. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
The duration of the examination is 2 hours (120 minutes).
SSC CPO PET/ PST Test
The minimum requirements are mentioned below:

SSC CPO PET Test
For Male Candidates
- 100 mtr race in 16 seconds
- 1.6 Km Race in 6.5 minutes
- Long Jump: 3.65 mtr in 5 chances
- High Jump: 1.2 mtr in 3 chances
- Short put 16 LBS: 4.5 mtr in 3 chances
For Female Candidates
- 100 mtr race in 18 second
- 800 mtr race in 4 minutes
- Long Jump: 2.7 mtr or 9 ft in 3 chances
- High Jump: 0.9 mtr or 3 ft in 3 chances
SSC CPO Medical Test
The Medical Test criteria is mentioned below:
- Min Near Vision – N9 (worse eye) and N6 (better eye)
- Min Distant Vision – 6/9 (worse eye) and 6/6 (better eye)
- Should not have a flat foot, varicose vein, knock knee, or squint in the eyes
- Eye standards should be without any visual correction.
SSC CPO Exam Pattern – Paper 2
The paper 2 examination pattern is given below:

- The SSC CPO Paper-2 will be conducted after the PET/PST Test
- It is an online test
- The exam is qualifying in nature
- The duration of the examination is 2 hours (120 minutes)
- The total number of questions is 20
- Each question carries one mark
- Negative marking is applicable. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
