SSC MTS Exam Pattern
SSC MTS exam is conducted in two stages: Paper-I and Paper-II. Both stages are different from each other and include different types of questions. Paper-I contains objective-type questions, whereas Paper-II includes descriptive-type questions.
Given below is the exam pattern for SSC MTS exam:
Paper- I (Computer Based Examination)
- There will be objective type, multiple choice questions in Paper I
- For Parts II, III, and IV, questions will be set in both English and Hindi
- For each incorrect response, 0.25 points will be deducted
- Candidates should keep this in mind while answering the questions
- Candidates’ marks in Paper-I (Computer Based Examination), if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalised by using a specific formula
- The normalised score will be used to decide the final merit and cut-off marks
- After the examination, the Commission will publish the tentative answer keys of the Computer Based Examination on its official website
- Applicants may review the answer keys and send online representations within the stipulated time frame on payment of Rs 100 for each question
- Any other form of communication, such as a letter, application, or email, will not be considered
- Before finalising the answer keys, all representations regarding the answer keys will be examined, and the Commission’s decision in this regard will be final
- There will be no option for scores revaluation or re-checking

Paper-II (Descriptive)
- Paper-II will be a descriptive test in ‘Pen and Paper’ Mode, in which candidates will have to write a short essay or letter in English or any of the languages listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution
- Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature which will be used to test basic language skills in view of post categorization and job requirements. The marks scored by candidates in this paper will be used to decide merit if more than one candidate scores equal normalised marks in Paper-I
- Paper-II will be administered only to those applicants who meet the cut-off decided by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories
- In Paper II, applicants must write down their correct roll number in the relevant place on the cover page of the answer book. They must also sign and leave a left-hand thumb impression in the appropriate column. Answer books that do not include roll number, signature, or left-hand thumb impression will be given zero marks
- Participants should not mention any personal information inside the answer book, such as their name, roll number, phone number, or address. Candidates who fail to adhere to these guidelines will be awarded zero marks, and their candidature will be rejected
