SSC CAPF Exam Pattern

The Staff Selection Commission conducts the recruitment process for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) examinations.

The recently announced Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPF Examination, 2020 consists of the following mandatory stages:

  • Paper-I
  • Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET)
  • Paper-II
  • Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the PET/ PST Examination based on how they perform in Paper-I
  • Only the candidates who qualify for the PET/ PST will be permitted to write the Paper-II Examination
  • The PST/ PET does not carry any marks. These are simply of a qualifying/ elimination nature
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in the Detailed Medical Examination on the basis of their performance in Paper-I and Paper-II
  • Candidates who successfully pass the Medical Examination will be called for Document Verification and subsequent final selection

Other details pertaining to the examination pattern are as follows:

  1. All papers will include Objective Multiple Choice Questions. Parts I, II, and III of Paper I will have questions in Hindi and English. In Papers I and II, there will be a 0.25-mark deduction for every incorrect answer. Applicants are recommended to take this into consideration when answering questions.
  2. Candidates’ marks in the Computer Based Examination will be normalised using a methodology issued by the Commission through Notice No.1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02- 2019. Normalised scores will be used to determine the final merit and cut-off marks.
  3. After the examination, the Commission will post tentative answer keys on its website. Applicants may review the Answer Keys and submit representations – if any – within the time period set by the Commission via online mode, at a fee of Rs.100/- per question. Any representation regarding Answer Keys received within the time frame set by the Commission will be scrutinised before finalising the Answer Keys. The decision of the Commission in this regard will be final. No representations regarding Answer Keys will be acknowledged later.
  4. Holders of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) certificate (as of January 1, 2021) will receive bonus marks in Papers I and II which will be added to their normalised scores according to the following scheme:
